Russkis Imperial Caviar – Packaging Design
Russkis Deli is a long-running Eastern European deli and grocer in Bondi, Sydney, founded in 1979, known for premium smallgoods, caviar, house-made salads and ready-to-heat meals, plus specialty pantry items, breads and cakes. With a full online shop and Sydney-wide delivery, and a reputation for friendly, it an old-school service and carefully selected imports.
Russkis approached us with the need for a sophisticated and timeless packaging design for their Imperial Sturgeon Black Caviar range. The challenge was to capture the exclusivity of the product while maintaining clarity, trust, and shelf presence in a highly competitive luxury market.
- Packaging Design
Russkis offers a selection of premium smallgoods, ready-to-heat home-cooked meals, and specialty pantry items. Imperial is a premium caviar brand specialising in traditionally prepared sturgeon black caviar. Their philosophy is rooted in elegance, refinement, and authenticity, delivering one of the world’s most luxurious delicacies to discerning customers across Europe and Asia.
- The brand needed to stand out against established heritage caviar labels while still aligning with the premium expectations of connoisseurs.
- Packaging had to be instantly recognisable, communicate luxury, and convey product authenticity.
- A delicate balance was required: modern refinement without losing traditional cues.
We created a design built on heritage luxury and bold clarity:
- A gold sturgeon illustration at the centre — the unmistakable symbol of caviar tradition.
- Deep black backdrop with gold accents, inspired by the elegance of evening wear and fine dining.
- A circular framing system, giving the packaging a sense of seal and exclusivity.
- Balanced typography that merges classic serif elegance with strong readability.
The result is a packaging system that feels at home on the most refined tables — from Michelin-star restaurants to private dining collections.
