Brochure Design for AIFS
Opening the World — One Page at a Time
When AIFS (Australian Institute of Foreign Study) came to us to design their new brochure, it wasn’t just about creating something beautiful — it was about bringing their purpose to life.
For over 60 years, AIFS has helped young people explore the world through cultural exchange, travel, and education programs. They wanted a brochure that could tell that story — not just with words, but with heart.

AIFS needed a brochure that could do a lot of heavy lifting. It had to:
- Speak to two audiences — young travellers and host families.
- Explain multiple programs clearly, from Au Pair to Camp to Work & Travel.
- Feel professional yet personal, polished yet playful.
- Work equally well in print and digital formats.
In short, it had to feel like AIFS: global, genuine, and full of adventure.
“Take a Gap Year with AIFS”
We built the visual direction around discovery and playfulness, using hand-drawn motifs, layered patterns, and bold contrast to capture the spirit of youth and exploration.
Design highlights:
- Navy and yellow palette: Bright, confident, and unmistakably AIFS.
- Energetic doodle illustrations: Airplanes, stars, globes, and landmarks — visual symbols of adventure.
- Friendly type pairing: Rounded fonts for warmth, strong sans-serifs for clarity.
- Structured layout: Balancing excitement with professionalism for a trusted, polished finish.
The result? A visual identity that makes you want to pack your bags.
