Many of you would have received an email recently with a not-so-positive message, and with a not such a big notice either.
We’re sunsetting our MarkUp Free plan on February 26th, 2025
Yes, the all-time favourite tool for markups is going from free, to paid as an option, to now only paid. And that sucks. Sucks because it’s not really giving us a choice, in fact even the prices all come as 1 not very cheap price for a SAAS product at $US79/month. Best (and only) Value!
Now, we’ve been here many times before. It’s pretty common in the SAAS world to let you use something for free, make you fall in love with it and then take it away (unless you pay). We won’t lie and say we are not disappointed. Especially with the lack of choice. But of course there is choice, and this is why you are here. The top few Markup.io alternatives you can use right now, for free or for low cost.

That would be sufficient to start with. There were no such players on the market when Markup popped up, at least as far as we are aware, so it’s nice to have options. We were however one of the very early users of Markup and are yet to decide whether we are staying or going.
Aside from the tools above, you can also use other tools like Figma (if designs are in Figma, or you can even paste them in there). ClickUp has some of that functionality as do a bunch of other project management and/or design tools.
